On New Year's Day 2008, Thompson and his wife were invited to Pulaski, Tennessee, for a trail ride with a large group of horse enthusiasts. On this visit the artist did not participate in the trail ride but rather photographed the riders on their beautiful horses. Next time the painter will go along for the ride to capture some of the scenic views the riders have told him about.
