Artist, Tommy Thompson, is now presenting art talks and oil painting demonstrations to civic clubs and other organizations. He presented an art talk and oil painting demo during the March 7, 2011, meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Cool Springs--Williamson County, TN. While the club members had their lunch, the oil painter created a 16x20 inch oil painting of a Tennessee landscape. Afterwards, he gave a brief talk in which he shared with the group about the many Nashville artists and his friends, including Michael Shane Neal, Dawn Whitelaw, Roger Dale Brown, Charles Thomas Cox, and Jason Saunders. The artist assured the group that they can learn to paint and recommended that they check out the Chestnut Group to learn from its 150+ painters. Thompson took the group on an imaginary journey across the country to show the audience how to see the world as an artist sees it.
Attending the presentation were Thompson's wife Marie and daughter, Michelle Rideout, an artist in her own right, who produces creative images in oil, watercolor, and pastel.
Please contact Tommy Thompson if your organization needs a speaker.
