On Mother's Day, May 13, 2007, Tommy Thompson decided to do something totally different. He painted en plein air while the Nashville Symphony entertained in Crockett Park in Brentwood, Tennessee. He attracted many curious onlookers since they had never observed anything quite like this, but all agreed the plein air painter added a nice ambience to the afternoon.
